No more chemical detergents that pollute groundwater, destroy the ecosystem, create allergies and empty our wallets!
We’re getting back to basics: Marseille soap! Super effective and with a deliciously retro scent.
This little cube of soap is an oldie since it was created in 1370! And since then it has been used for its washing properties and its cleaning power.
For the explanation, Marseille soap is the result of the saponification of a set of vegetable essential oils, mixed with olive oil.
Ingredients for 2 bottles of 1 L of detergent:
– 1.5 L of boiling water
– 60 g of Marseille soap flakes (either grate a block of soap using a kitchen grater, or buy it directly in flakes)
– 40 g of soda crystals
– 3 tablespoons of baking soda
– a few drops of lavender, lemon or rose essential oils (optional)
Boil the water in a large saucepan, then remove from the heat and slowly add all the ingredients, mixing everything with a whisk until perfectly smooth. The detergent should thicken slightly. If it doesn’t, add a little soap. If it’s too thick, add water. It’s like cooking!
Update: Blending the mixture once it has cooled prevents it from solidifying in the bottle later.
Then we pour everything using a funnel into 2 glass bottles.
It may happen that the soap solidifies in the bottle. In this case, just shake it. If this really does not work, put a little boiling water in the bottle to melt the “cork”.
To your machines!!
